Can Barcelona produce another monumental comeback over Juventus?

Despite producing one of the greatest comebacks in football history against PSG, Barcelona suffered yet another stuttering defeat in their latest outing at the hands of Juventus.

There are a host of tough teams potentially on the horizon for the Spanish outfit if they do manage to achieve yet another dramatic turnaround in the coming weeks.

El Clasico rivals Real Madrid are the current front runners for outright success after their first leg triumph over German giants Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Meanwhile, the only English representatives Leicester City are the biggest outsiders for success. They are also 200/1 with bet365 in the Premier League betting to face an unlikely, but still mathematically possible, relegation.

La Liga giants Barcelona previously went 4-0 down in the first leg of their last 16 clash with the Parisians, but pulled off one of the all-time great comebacks in the second leg. On home soil at the Nou Camp, Luis Enrique’s men rallied back from 0-4 down to earn an incredible 6-1 second leg victory in front of their rapturous Spanish supporters.

Their clinical South American front three of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez were at their absolute best in the incredible revival, as they all found the target during a remarkable 90 minutes on Spanish soil. It was Sergi Roberto, though, that was the hero as he netted in added time to hand Barcelona a famous Champions League triumph and cement their position this season’s quarter-finals.

After suffering that last-16 first leg setback, many assumed the Catalan titans would avoid such a scenario again this time around.

But that wasn’t the case, as Enrique’s side were once again thrashed on their travels, this time to Turin at the hands of a very impressive Juventus. Massimiliano Allegri set up his Italian champions in a solid formation and thwarted any dangerous attacks from their opponents, despite having entered proceedings as the huge underdogs to progress.

A spot in the Champions League semi-finals now beckons after their 3-0 quarter-final first leg success at the Juventus Stadium. They have endured four European Cup final defeats since last triumphing in the competition way back in 1996, but this season represents their best ever chance to put an end to that hapless run.

The five-in-a-row Serie A champions are dominating domestically once again and are now on the verge of clinching a famous treble triumph this current campaign. That would see them record an amazing feat under the watchful eye of Italian tactician Allegri, but they must first withstand another potential comeback from Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

Can Enrique oversee yet another grand stand finish and overturn their first leg deficit? If any side are capable of pulling off yet another great escape, then it’s Barcelona. The Catalan giants’ loss to Juve in Italy was their second loss in a row, after also being toppled in La Liga by Malaga.

That being said, Barca relish playing in front of their home fans at the intimidating Nou Camp and could yet produce another miraculous revival in the upcoming quarter-final second leg match-up.

So, ahead of the quarter-final second legs, Spanish manager Enrique will be working hard to set his Barcelona side in a manner which could help propel them to another unbelievable European comeback against recent conquerors Juventus.
